Apr 09, 2013 · Usually the command "no switchport" means that it is a layer 3 interface. Then on top of that you might see no ip address which will mean it just doesn't have an ip address on that layer 3 interface. On some older switches you will not see the no switchport command but you will see the no ip address command. I just installed from SNG7-FPBX-64bit-1703-1.iso (downloaded from the Asia server which didn’t have the 1706 file) using the Recommended option. The install completed successfully and after the reboot and logging in to the console as root the welcome message showed the eth0 interface with no ip address. Trying ifconfig eth0 up created an ipv6 address but ipv4. Contact device manager to see how you can tell if the device has an IP Address Possible both of those will not help though? Not totally reliable it seems, but with a Windows PC open a CMD prompt and enter 'arp -a' which will give a list of IP addresses on the LAN and MAC Address.
